What’s New?
Instead of seeing “People in your targeted locations,” you’ll now see “People in or regularly in your targeted locations.” In the past, you only saw “Reach people in your target locations”. Now, you can select “Reach People who searched for your target locations but whose physical location was outside the target location at the time of searching.”
How Can You Use it?
This is a new course of action for Google. Instead of showing ads to people physically in-location, people who have used any of your targeted locations at any location of their search can receive your advertisements too.
For example, someone living in Minnesota made a search about an Atlanta company. Any advertisement of the Atlanta company will reach the Minnesota searcher wherever he or she goes.
You can find these new settings whenever you’re customizing the location options of your latest Google advertisement.
Will It Improve Your Current Campaigns?
Indeed, it’s a huge game changer in terms of improving audience targeting. Even more so if your target audience has a major population of commuters. While Google makes no definitive statements on whether it is to target commuters, their frequency and regularity in your area holds a clue to the efficiency of the new targeting option.
